So they survived! Although a poor ending to a brilliant first season, on first glance Heroes Season 2 promised to be ace, Parkman, Molly and Mohinder were all back, Hiro was off in a 1600s Japanese adventure, and Peter Petrelli was off with the Irish. Where on Earth could it have gone wrong? Well it wasn't so much the returning characters. Bennett was still the cool 'man with the horn-rimmed glasses.' The Haitian was up to his usual tricks. Mohinder stayed the same. Although, Hiro left Ando behind and created a poor story out of something that could have been brilliant. This was one real mistake but what was bad were the new characters. The Mexico elite were only improved once Sylar showed up, and even then Maya is annoying, but not as annoying as her brother. Bob's daughter was particularly annoying and don't get me started about Claire and Peter Pan... Although Micah and his new friend were both interesting and Adam was superb. After the first 5 seemingly endless episodes, the series picked up, throwing Peter into the future. Once returning to find good old Adam waiting. Hiro returns to the future, and Bennett family troubles are back on the agenda. More to the point, Sylar's proximity to New York is increasing by the episode and Matt has just discovered how to use a new and some would say even more interesting power. The season finishes with a boom and for a short season, it was good enough to assume that I will be waiting for the next installment.
*** - Good for TV, not so good for Heroes. A good end so we will be watching season 3.
