Many people told me that Team America: World Police was the dumbest movie ever made. They told me that the script was silly, and not thought out very well, and that it just appealed to 10-year old boys. Well I must object to this Team America attack right now. The film is sensational. There is no other word for it. The film is neither dumb nor silly, but rather one of the most intelligent, and witty films I have seen in a long, long time.
The film takes political correctness and not only throws it out, but quite literally throws up on it. Even this scene I am referring to where a puppet is seen throwing up for quite literally 3 minutes is brilliant and witty. It may seem like it is not and I never thought that I would read a lot out of nothing, but this film actually does say a lot in simple ideas. Even the tittle of this blog, 'Everyone has Aids', may seem a dumb overtone, but this song is supposed to be a witty engaging with the musical Rent (It is called Lease in the film). This film attacks both left and right in a witty, and politically incorrect way. It does so as it draws on many of our different perceptions of life and uses them to create a film. Team America: World Police, as a title sums up the film.
**** - 4 Stars - Excellent but if you do not like satire, probably not your thing.
